USPS Stamp Prices 2026: Current Values and Rates

The current USPS retail stamped-letter price is 82¢ for a qualifying one-ounce domestic letter, effective July 12, 2026. “Stamp cost” may refer to postal value, a retailer’s package price or a collector-market price; this page reports current postal values.

Stamped letter prices by weight

A qualifying domestic stamped letter costs 82¢ through 1 oz, $1.11 through 2 oz, $1.40 through 3 oz and $1.69 through 3.5 oz. A letter with a DMM-listed nonmachinable feature adds 49¢. Pieces outside letter dimensions, international mail and added services use other rules.

Books, sheets and rolls

At 82¢ per Forever stamp, 20 stamps have $16.40 in current postal value and 100 have $82.00. The sales format does not change each stamp’s postal value. A store’s product price, shipping and checkout total can differ from the package’s total postage value.

Old, lettered and unidentified stamps

Calculate before applying stamps

1. Confirm destination and mail class.
2. Measure and weigh the completed piece.
3. Check shape, rigidity, thickness and other nonmachinable conditions.
4. Find the required current dollar postage.
5. Total eligible stamps to meet or exceed that amount.
