Fastest way to check
- Find the phone number for the exact store.
- Ask whether it currently has unused USPS postage stamps at the counter.
- Confirm whether they are sold singly or as a book and ask the current price.
- If staff cannot confirm, use the USPS locator for a nearby Post Office or approved provider.
What to ask for
Say “USPS Forever stamps” or the postage category you need. Do not ask only for “postage,” because a store may interpret that as a label, money order or unrelated shipping service. Check the count before paying.
If you are mailing immediately
A convenience store can be useful for an ordinary prepared letter. If the envelope is heavy, square, rigid, international or otherwise unusual, go to USPS first so the mailpiece can be classified and priced correctly.
Does late opening mean stamps are available late?
No. Store hours do not prove product stock, and inventory can sell out between calls and arrival.
