There is no current nationwide rule that bank branches or ordinary bank ATMs sell postage stamps. A specific institution may offer them at a branch or machine, but that service must be checked locally. USPS self-service kiosks are the dependable category to search when you want to buy stamps from a machine.

Bank ATM versus USPS kiosk

How to find a working option

  1. Open the USPS location finder.
  2. Choose the self-service kiosk filter and enter your ZIP Code.
  3. Check lobby access hours; they may differ from retail-counter hours.
  4. If considering a bank, call the branch and ask about that exact ATM or teller service.
  5. Take the prepared mailpiece to a staffed counter if its weight or class is uncertain.

Why old lists are unreliable

ATM programs, machines and retail partnerships change. An article naming a bank years ago does not prove a nearby machine still offers stamps. The ATM screen or current first-party branch information is the relevant evidence.

Will an ATM calculate postage for my envelope?

Do not assume so. A bank ATM, even if it sells a booklet, is not a postal classification tool. A USPS kiosk or counter is the safer route for an unusual piece.
