California stamps in this postal guide are verified through nine issue-level records, from a 1934 Yosemite design to a 2024 Ansel Adams pane. The list distinguishes statehood from landscapes, expositions, history, architecture and photography.
California’s postal timeline spans nine decades
El Capitan opens the sequence in 1934, followed by two major expositions and the Gold Centennial. The 1950 statehood centennial anchors the civic category; later issues return to settlement history, Yosemite, San Francisco architecture and photography.

Yosemite appears in different postal roles
El Capitan is a 1-cent National Parks design, Flag Over Yosemite is a 25-cent coil issue, and the Ansel Adams pane includes photography associated with the park. Similar geography does not make these the same issue.
California search results mix unrelated kinds of stamps
Food-assistance references, cigarette tax stamps, notary seals, rubber stamps and tourist impressions are not U.S. postage. A California place in a first-day line or an artist’s address also does not qualify an otherwise unrelated design.
Issue history versus current availability
The live catalog check on 2026-09-11 found 2019 California Dogface Butterfly Non-Machinable Stamps at $104.80 and marked it in stock. It is a current nonmachinable product example, not evidence that every historical California issue in the table is available.
California’s nine historical records and the current Dogface Butterfly product serve different purposes. The archive identifies issues; the live product page controls the offered format, quantity, price and stock, and neither substitutes for examining a particular collectible copy.
