Verified issue
USPS issued the stamp January 27, 2019, in Kansas City in a pane of 20 with one design. Tom Engeman created a stylized image based on butterfly specimens.
What postage it represents
The nondenominated butterfly stamp covers the applicable nonmachinable surcharge together with the underlying one-ounce letter postage value represented by that stamp category. Confirm the current value before mailing.
When it may fit
Square, rigid or otherwise nonmachinable letter-size pieces can trigger the surcharge. The finished piece must still qualify as a letter; a flat or package uses different pricing.
Buying check
Verify the exact California Dogface issue, pack size, seller, live price, stock and returns. A 100-stamp retail pack is not the original USPS pane format.
