USPS no longer offers newly made personalized photo postage for weddings. The Customized Postage program ended in 2020. Couples can still personalize envelopes, labels, liners or rubber-stamp decoration, but those items do not pay postage; use valid USPS stamps or a properly generated postage label for the mailing itself.
Can you order custom USPS wedding stamps today?
No. USPS-authorized vendors once sold Customized Postage, also called photo stamps, with a customer’s image beside approved postage indicia. USPS removed the product category in 2020, and the federal rule eliminating Customized Postage took effect August 1, 2020. Listings that imply USPS will now print a new adhesive stamp from your wedding photo are outdated or refer to a different product.
Genuine unused customized postage produced before the program ended is a historical product, not a current customization service. Its printed postage value, condition and authenticity still need to be checked before mailing.

A simple current solution is to combine a personalized envelope design with an issued Love stamp. Keep decorative seals away from the delivery address, postage and barcode-clear areas.
Choose postage from the finished invitation
Design is only one part of the decision. Assemble one complete invitation, including inserts and the sealed envelope, then measure and weigh it before buying the full quantity.
- Qualifying one-ounce letter: the current stamped First-Class Mail price is 82¢.
- Additional weight: each additional ounce for a letter currently costs 29¢.
- Two-ounce letter: the current price is $1.11; USPS currently lists Wedding Blooms at this rate.
- Square, rigid, lumpy or unusually decorated envelope: a nonmachinable charge or a different mail category may apply.
These prices are effective July 12, 2026 and were checked September 5, 2026. Use the live USPS price list when mailing later.
A practical wedding postage plan
- Count households for save-the-dates, invitations, reply envelopes and thank-you cards separately.
- Decide which pieces are postcards and which are letters; do not assume every card qualifies for the postcard price.
- Build and weigh one finished sample of each mailpiece.
- Select valid postage first, then coordinate the envelope, liner, label or decorative seal around it.
- Take embellished, square or uncertain samples to a Post Office before buying the full quantity.

Frequently asked questions
Can a custom rubber stamp replace postage?
No. A rubber-stamp impression, monogram, seal or decorative label is not evidence that postage was paid.
Are old PhotoStamps still the same as current Forever stamps?
No. They were produced under the former Customized Postage program and can show a fixed postage value. Confirm the printed value and add postage if the mailpiece requires more.
Does one Forever stamp cover every wedding invitation?
No. It covers a qualifying one-ounce First-Class Mail letter. Weight, square shape, rigidity, thickness and embellishments can change the required postage.
